For the last twelve years, Synago has been the identity of our youth group program. Synago is the greek word for community, so with that being said, the youth group strives to make an impact in Sheldon by being a strong, Jesus-centered community. See below for more information on what we do during our worship times and what events we have coming up,
Our Jr. High group meets every Wednesday night at 5:30 until 6:30. We start with a review of last week's lesson and we then we move on to the topic of the week. Afterwards, we all play a game that usually ties into the lesson. If you or anyone you know is in 7th-8th grade and looking for something to do on Wednesday nights, come to the Sheldon United Methodist Church to have fun, learn about Jesus, and find a home in God's place.
Our Sr. High group meets every Wednesday night from 8:00 to 9:30. While some of the format is the same as the Jr. High, we have more in-depth discussions, worship time with music, some theatre elements, as well as some more leadership opportunities involved in this group. 9th-12th grade are welcome to join us for this time of learning, fun, and worshipping the One True King.
Specifically for Senior High, this is a smaller group that meets at 6:30 PM on Sunday nights to discuss what's going on in the youth group and have Bible study to become better disciples for Jesus Christ. The group has a maximum of 12 students and if you are interested in becoming a stronger leader you can contact Jacob Sandholm at firstname.lastname@example.org to see if there are spots open or if you have any questions.
